“…. these are a few of my favorite thinnnnnngs!”
As I trill a la Julie Andrews, darlings, RUSH right over to this January 3 column by the wondrous, precious and irreplaceable Bill Cunningham of the NY Times (yes, I saw the documentary about him last winter and yes, I loved it with all my being) and just feast your eyes on MEN WHO LOOK ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS.
Even if you disagree with their choices, the point that Bill Cunningham makes several times is that these fellas are making an effort. They are vibrant, creative, alive, lively, interesting and obviously interested in what’s now + wow in 2013. They are saying, “We are not passive observers of art, we ARE art.” They are anything but generic. And they inspire the crepes suzette out of me.
Go, go, go!!

A lot of black there. Black shoes (albeit shined). Black trousers.
And long, wool coats.
It’s New YAWK dah-leengk! Love it! I really appreciate the intentionality. I was prepared for the skinny jeans and the meggings – and those who wore them wore them well. The big weekender/satchel murses – man purses – were new (to me).
fabulous! here’s to the end of the era of dressing down for absolutely everything! (she writes while wearing her super comfy faded jeans & brown sweater … but it’s a working from home day.)
