Sorry about the horrid video. This was post post-church nap and I didn’t want to inflict my Witchy Poo from Bugs Bunny hair ‘do on ya. I didn’t realize I was pretty much cutting off the top of my head, though.









My mother’s advice to me when I was stung by a comment was always, “Consider the source and lay it to ignorance.” I’ve had those conversations with people — the ones where they snag you on your way INTO the sanctuary to tell you they’re leaving the church, the ones where they insult your seminary at the dinner table, the ones where they criticize your family…I confess I am not at all “controlled politeness” in the last case. I agree with your comments that Brinn neglects the positive support and encouragement that we receive from congregation members but I don’t think it’s missing from his overall evaluation of ministry, just from the article.
I’d love to know more about a retreat…
