She’s Rocking The Pop Of Color

One of the great joys of General Assembly is to see, and squeeze, dear pigeons with whom I otherwise connect only in cyber relationship. Recent seminary graduate, Leslie Jarzabski, is one of those dear pigeons, and it was lovely to meet her for a coffee date at what she charmingly referred to as “Bucks of Star.”

We talked about ministry and chaplaincy and all sorts of things of deep import, including LIPSTICK. Because she was wearing amazing lippy and of course I had to inquire about it. She is wearing Nars The Multiple in Puerto Vallarta on her cheeks and Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Timanfaya, which is not a color many of us can get away with! I think it would look glorious on very dark skin tones, and it also looks amazing on Leslie’s very fair skin. Most in-between complexions would have to test first, as that kind of orange can look clownish very easily.

A word on Leslie’s style and presence: she manages to have a distinctly hip, youthful vibe without being dominated by it. It’s hard when you’re young, beautiful and stylish to find a balance between ministerial gravitas, authentic presence and fashion-conscious fabulousness, and Leslie manages to find it. She makes a bright, bold first impression as someone who knows herself, has a fun, snazzy life, and who is deeply grounded in faith and care for the world. It’s a potent and impressive combination. She’s a smart and affectionate chaplain I would definitely look forward to seeing if I was in the hospital, and she is bright and articulate and strong enough to impress me as someone I would be interested in working with in a leadership capacity.

Substance and style. There ya go.
