Many thanks to my friend and colleague, Cecilia Kingman, who is currently baking twin buns in her oven, for this marvelous link. Archbishop Rutherford Johnson, can that possibly be for real? Did someone name their baby after often overlooked U.S. President Rutherford B. Hayes, about whom PeaceBang wrote a report in the 4th grade? I love it! He’s looking wicked natty on this page, too, inn he?
May Our Lady of Chocolate hold Cecilia in her tender mercies until she delivers of fine, healthy twins. And may God preserve her from heartburn, especially over the holidays when she really should be able to indulge in fantastic treats every day. Love to you, Cecilia!

Matching your socks to your liturgical colors seems a little trivializing to me. Maybe I’m misunderstanding the significance of red for an Anglican archbishop.
I was thinking the same thing about the socks. If believing that grown men should match their socks to their shoes is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
He doesn’t look like any Anglican archbishop I’ve ever seen. Which weird breakaway sect is this, and why do they dress like eighteenth-century Germans?
Not that he doesn’t look spiffy, I would just have no idea what he was trying to convey if I saw him on the street.
