BTFM Undergoing Construction

Hi dear readers!!

BTFM is undergoing re-design in the next few days (while my friend Scott Wells is in town to guide the process while I flap my wrists helplessly and say, “YEA, I like that!” or “Oooh, I don’t like that, what do you think?”).

The site me be a bit funky for awhile while we try out various looks. Just think of it as BTFM changing her outfit. She’s been wearing pretty much the same one for several years now.

We are also investigating religiously-themed adverstisements that are in keeping with my progressive Christian values. Scott is helping me with that, too. If we go with them they’ll appear in a couple weeks.

Stay tuned, kitty cats! See you soon!

Kiss of peace, PB

  1. I vote yes for thematically-appropriate advertising. You provide a valuable service for your community of readers, and if we can help offset your hosting costs by letting our eyes pass across some links that may well actually be of interest to us, that seems more than fair. You’ve developed a level of trust with your readers that we know we don’t need to worry about the character of the site or the content being skewed by commercial concerns.

  2. I think the ads are fine too. More than fine actually. One can only fight so many battles, and it is silly for you not to reap the rewards and advertise things you feel OK about.

  3. To me ads indicate a blog has enough readership to actually make the ads worth it! And I certainly don’t mind them. I do like the idea of donating as well but I very rarely use Paypal and the like because I’ve had a few bad experiences with their customer service while doing ebay transactions.

  4. Rachel, Madgebaby, and Meredith, you all hit the nail on the head! I don’t mind a few innocuous advertisements (because something tells me Peace Bang wouldn’t put up huge pop-up flash video ads, ugh) while scrolling through. And you absolutely deserve some assistance in keeping this great site up and running.

Good luck with the redesign, and we can’t wait to see what you come up with!
