Darlings,
From loyal reader Miss Conduct, a nifty review of DIY techniques you can use to create beautiful Statement Necklaces to snazz up yer look:
1. For a short necklace, you can wear it backwards and use the pin to fasten it.
2. You can tie a knot in a long necklace and run a pin through it.

3. If the necklace is long enough that it doesn’t have a clasp, you can double it and use a pin to connect the looped ends.
4. If the fastener of the pin is vertical, you can pin it on the bottom of the necklace and wear it like a pendant.
How lovely! And so creative!!

Great! Pins are such a wonderful, versatile item, almost like the paper clip of the jewelry world. It’s a shame that they’ve gone out of style. I like to wear them on my hats – yet another item that hasn’t seen the light of fashion day in years 😛
This looks great but please don’t put a pin on Grandma’s vintage pearls–buy a cheap imitation set for this sort of thing. Real pearls (vintage or not) are really vulnerable to scratching and chipping.
I have had trouble with putting pins on necklaces–the pin tends to break the string, and then you get a shower of beads.
