Striking

sharon

This is Sharon’s FaceBook photo and I asked her if I could use it.

What I love about this:
1. It made me look. I was immediately interested in her.
2. The scarf is fabulous — it goes with her coloring, it’s warm and creative looking without upstaging Sharon herself.
3. Great glasses. Strong, contemporary, but they don’t obscure Sharon’s face.
4. Don’t we all wish we could go gray like that? Full, lovely hair cut in an easy style with some body and movement to it.

This person, to me, projects an image of intellectual strength, creative spirit and groundedness. She lives in 2009, not 1989, and she knows who she is.

Brava.

  1. Admittedly, I was attracted to this blog by the title. Having served in the military for 25 years, I never had to worry about this stuff – we all wear the same clothes (although others looked better than I did). Anyway, although not a minister, I want to be a teacher so I am beginning to think about job interviews and how to appear teacher – like in the classroom. Hope there is some “guy advice” to be found here.

    Thanks.

  2. There’s a “Tips For My Menfolk” link on the right-hand side of the page, with subheadings of “Men’s Clothing” and “Shoes”.
