These are awesome T-shirts, but no, you shouldn’t wear them to work.
PeaceBang also doesn’t think that your slogan T-shirt is any more appropriate for ministry work. She thinks that slogan T-shirts are mostly sloppy and ugly and thoroughly unprofessional. A crisp, nicely cut plain T-shirt in a nice color is a different story.
And especially remember: don’t ever, ever wear your t-shirt with stretch pants!

Preach it. This especially applies to all those using the excuse “I want to relate to a younger generation”…you know who you are and slogan t-shirts are still not ok!
Yes, so all of you youth ministers out there with your “clever t’s” stop it. Stop it right now. Put on real shoes, put on real coothes, and no it’s not cool when you dress like you are 16–because you are not.
The only exception, I think, is church tees: tees designed & printed by the church where you work or used to work. Also, some deacons/youth ministers/outreach ministers can wear tees of the charity 5K-type event in which they participated, etc.
But of course: always to be worn with nice clean fitted khakis, a good haircut, a clean shave, clean nails, nice non-ratty shoes… y’all know the drill!
To play devil’s advocate for a moment, what about this (the jacket is wrinkled, I know – it was at the very end of a hot, mucky day when I walked home!)

I often do some variation on this theme when I’m doing both regular (grown up) work and have to do youth at night. Usually it involves a band t-shirt or graphic one like this. I don’t think I own more than one or two “slogan” t’s but they’re a similar style. [Unless you’re a campus minister, I’d much rather see you in a nice, funky blouse (I’m thinking like Old Navy funky). Given how fitted and contemporary your pants and jacket are, I think the graphic T gives you a bit of a hard edge. A band T is just inappropriate for professional wear.- PB]
True, I wouldn’t wear it on a normal work day. (that would usually involve a blouse/collared shirt, chunky necklace, and nicer pants or a skirt).
That day was campus in the morning, two hours in the office in the afternoon, and youth at night.
I think my frustration lies so much with the multitude of roles I have to fulfill in one day.
I like suits, and if I was in the office and hospital visits etc. all day I could dress in a blink of an eye. But when I’m doing four things in one day, the skirt suit isn’t going to work for all if it.
