Alas, my difficult feet and I find the one on the top right to appear be not only comfortable enough to get through a Sunday, but actually aesthetically pleasing, which could be why the Lord doth appear in different forms to different believers. Just a perspective: These don’t look radically different from shoes you’ve reverently featured as your faves before. The only difference, in some eyes, between a Fluevog and an Easy Spirit or Clark is a molded polyethylene sole. Fluevogs are clunky and these are clunky. [Oh my gosh. My goodness. These are radically different. These have no design sensibility. Fluevogs are funky, colorful, unique, eye=catching, gasp-worthy, weird, and make a statement. These are ugly, tough leather, frumpy, have zero design sensibility beyond ‘you can put them on your feet,’ are in dead colors, have nothing to recommend them but utility. Fluevogs are art. These are a bunch of leather stitched together. The Mary Janes aren’t bad. The rest are atrocious! In order to maybe help train your eye, get on Instagram and look for #Fluevogs or #Fluevog. See why those clunky shoes are whimsical, have tons of character and look beautiful on. No one would feature any of these in an Instagram #OOTD post, I guarantee it. – PB]
I agree Carol….I think I’ve bought similar shoes after seeing things on this blog. The mary jane type in particular.

I’m with PeaceBang here. And yes-if there should be any real shame, it should visit manufacturers who think that comfort and ugly are necessary traveling partners.
OK, they’re whimsical, funky, eye-catching, etc. But are they a comfortable, supportive shoe I’d be able to wear all day without being crippled? $300 for a good, stylish and *comfortable* pair of shoes would be reasonable. But if my feet hurt, it shows in my face and that’s not beautiful. There are not stores for a couple hundred miles or I’d be tryin’ some on. [I’m not suggesting anyone get Fluevogs. I’m showing you a variety of shoes to try to read the messages they send. Fluevogs are funky and creative and so am I. I wouldn’t expect many people to be drawn to them, but I like to share them because they’re so different and not sold in retails stores. – PB]
If I wanted to order a pair of Fluevogs, I wouldn’t be able to try them before I bought them, and they would be subject to an additional £120 on top of the price I would have paid for tax and import duties to the UK, which makes them unattainable, sadly.
There is a gorgeous pair on sale at the moment…..

Hmm. The Fluevogs are pretty amazing–artsy and whimsical, some look comfortable–but some look downright ugly, too. Most of the shoes you posted here look pretty good to me. I wish there WERE shoes my feet can tolerate that were not quite so clunky/funky/casual. But they are what I’ve got to work with. And they are the unchangeable part of my wardrobe–expensive (for me, $70-150 shoes are reasonable ONLY because I MUST have shoes that do not hurt my feet!), found at the end of a long search for comfortable shoes of ANY kind, and they bring peace to my wrecked feet. So I have to find clothing that works with them–that is professional enough looking but also a bit casual/”artistic.” And in plus size. That’s a tall order. I came to this site looking for ideas. Instead I found insults on my most essential staples. Lutherans don’t get paid enough to dress the way you portray here. Unless they have rich spouses. My hopes for inspiration are dashed.
