Dreaded Toe Overhang

OH, baby dolls! The toes have got to stay ON THE SANDAL, okay? If the toes are OFF THE SANDAL, the sandal does NOT FIT.

Nice pedi, but she’s got the Dreaded Toe Overhang.

  1. Actually, I’m curious about side-of-the-foot overhang. When trying on, say, adorable wedge sandals, if the toes fit and the length is right, how side should the foot base be in order for the sandal to fit? Should you be able to see footbed around your foot? Should your foot overlap the edges?

  2. It was actually the reason I gave for buying a new pair of sandals when I already had a pair that were perfectly good except that I never liked them all that much. Can’t get caught with toe overhang! It sometimes happens with my new sandals, but then my feet swell a little from heat and I’m safely back in the zone. Problem solved. World saved.

  3. How do people even walk like this? The bottoms of my toes hurt just looking at it, especially with Birkenstock-type sandals like these that have a sharp rising edge.
