Darling dears!
PeaceBang is a huge fan of Zulily.com, and although she hates to push SHOPPING on anyone, and she doesn’t like to suggest that you need to buy a bunch of new stuff in order to look good, she just has to share a good thing when she sees it. Get a gander at the beautiful belts!! I don’t wear a lot of belts because I’m a lumpy-bumpy gal and they wind up just looking like a piece of leather bifurcating a bulge. But belts are a fabulous accessory for men and women: they really pull an outfit together.
Belts can go around pants, sure, but a slim belt looks beautiful over a silk blouse, a cardigan, or a dress. Here are some of my favorites from the Zulily sale:
Belts are simple accessories that you can use in multiple creatives ways. Lookie, lookie! Get some ideas! Do something new! Wrap a piece of leather or cloth around your middle and see how you like it!
PB, I’m wondering if you’re aware that one can’t go to the Zulily web site without opening an account with them. The last thing I need is another account, so I didn’t go there. But thanks for posting the photos. I especially like the last belt on the mannequin, which is tapered. Nice touch!
If you are someone without much of a definable waist (for me it’s a combination of a boyish figure and a tendency to gain weight around the midsection), what is your advice for wearing belts? I’ve tried cinching flowy cardigans at my waist, but I feel self-conscious that its calling undue attention to my least favorite feature. 🙁 [I feel that way, too, and rarely wear them. Never wear anything that makes you feel less than the best you can feel about yourself! – PB]
Judy W., you’re right about the need to sign up to shop on Zulily, so I avoided it for a long time, too. Then, one day my second-to-last sports bra died, and Zulily was having a fantastic sale, so I bit my lip and jumped in. I gave an alias, as little info as possible, and used one of my outlier email accounts so I could control the expected blast.
BUT, in just a few weeks I have become a Zulily True Believer. The prices are phenomenal. They are so good that even though you usually can’t return stuff (which they make very clear up front), it’s not Horrible. (I’ll just take it to the church thrift store.)
I also have NOT been inundated with unwanted third-party emails since signing up – and I could tell if Zulily started an inundation because of the email address I used.
That’s my experience so far, anyway – in short, it’s been totally worth it.
I saw an ad while reading my e-news this morning, and went to Zulily with credit card in hand. Until the account sign in popped up. I agree with Judy W.’s post. I won’t shop at a company that demands I sign up in order to purchase. Lost big money here. Sorry. [Really? That’s interesting. So many online retailers do this now, I don’t think twice about it if I really like their product. I have been ordering from Zulily for a year and they’ve been an excellent company to do business with. – PB]
