I’m a Capricorn. (What, did we just meet in a bar?)
Well, I am. That may be why I have a thing for animals with horns and antlers. I think they’re just the most awesome. Not more awesome than striped animals — I’m extraordinarily fond of those, too, and of dogs with fabulous markings like beagles, but antlers and horns are amazing. Oh, I may as well tell you that I believe in unicorns, too. I have no affinity for them but I’m pretty sure they existed as a very rare genetic mutation. Why not?
Antlers are so magical at the winter time. Think Cernunnos, the Stag God of Celtic tradition. Or don’t, because you’re a good God-fearing reader who shuns paganism. Not me. I went to a Winter Solstice ritual a billion years ago and they did an amazing antler dance to honor Cernunnos that I’ll never forget. It was powerful, a tiny bit scary, and utterly beautiful.
So anyway, I’m in love with these. There’s one pair on Etsy and I’m not buying them, but I love them and I thought I’d share. Maybe one of you will purchase them and do your own antler dance around the house. If I owned these I would absolutely wear them to a worship service, maybe the one after Christmas.
