Oh, le sigh! PeaceBang is always so inspired and enchanted when she sees a gal who knows how to accomplish elegant, formal, beautemous AND modest in one fell swoop. In this world of Cleavage Abuse and leggings as formalwear (do not doubt your Auntie PeaceBang, she saw this happen JUST LAST NIGHT at an event!), and TTS (Too Tight and Shiny), it is such soul nurturing goodness to be served up elegance and appropriateness.
This lovely Sister of The Groom I met at a recent wedding is Muslim and therefore committed to a certain decorum in her style of dress. She explained to me that her gorgeous and creative wrap was simply a chiffon scarf tied in the back and secured in the front with — you should pardon the expression — boob tape. I don’t know what else you call it. It’s what they use in Hollywood to keep lady stars from having wardrobe malfunctions. I don’t know where one obtains boob tape but I’m sure one of my devoted pigeons can enlighten us on the subject.
Et voila! Here we have a fairly low-cut cocktail dress, but no Festival of Inappropriate Sharing!
So pretty, right?

Love the chiffon scarf drape – I see many dresses that I’d like to wear, except that the necklines are way too low. I’ll try this. And I think I’ve seen “boob tape” at Nordstrom’s, in the lingerie dept. OH – they call it “dress and lingerie tape” and here the link:

I’m a huge fan of fashion tape. It’s great for button-down shirts that have lapels that won’t stay flat or tend to gap a tiny bit at the bust. It helps keep bra straps stay hidden under dress straps. Quality varies, so it’s worth trying a couple different brands. I keep a roll in my dresser at all times! [What brand do you like best? – PB]
I had a real bear of a time a couple weeks ago with my first try at boob tape for a wedding (to which I really wanted to wear a certain dress which is very skimpy up top and difficult to wear a bra with). I took too long on other getting-done-up things then had to rush trying to do the tape, then got kind of sweaty which made the tape stick less. It was a truly comical scene, my mad rush to tape my boobs, my husband’s patient assistance, then the giving up on the tape & trying all my bras again, etc. I felt better at the reception when I saw the bride in the bathroom getting her bustle done up and spotted her tape coming undone too.
For the record, I bought Fashion Forms’ (“where beautiful bosoms are our business”) Dress & Lingerie Tape at Bloomingdale’s while looking for Spanx. I have not yet used it successfully.
