I got this off the UUAMP website.
Please know that you are ALL WELCOME to attend either event. It is for Unitarian Universalists but a lot of what I am talking about will apply to the wider Church.
“From Sales To Souls: Membership and Evangelism for A Living Traditionâ€
The Rev. Dr. Victoria Weinstein
Countryside UU Church, 1025 North Smith St. Palatine, IL
Friday, November 2 and Saturday, November 3, 2012
An event for Unitarian Universalists and religious liberals with the Rev. Dr. Victoria Weinstein, author of popular blogs peacebang.com and beautytipsforministers.com. Weinstein consults with liberal religious congregations all over the country and in the U.K. She believes that we have just begun to scratch the surface of what it means to be a viable, relevant presence in the 21st century religious landscape, and suggests that before we can grow our membership, we must grow out of dysfunctional congregational habits and grow up from immature self-understanding and sense of terminal uniqueness.
Weinstein is a life-long Unitarian Universalist who brings affection, humor, many years of experience and a sense of fun to her presentations. Participants are asked to come with an open mind and heart.
Bring a copy of your congregation’s promotional materials or welcome packet and a current order of service from a typical Sunday service.
