Thy Rod And Thy Staff, They Comfort Me

I was tickled this morning when I opened an e-mail from a freelance writer inquiring about working for me, “even for no pay.”

This is a terrible economy and I admire anyone out drumming up some employment for themselves but if there’s a free-lance market for making money blogging, honey, I haven’t heard of it!

I do get jealous sometime when I hear about bloggers who make it big and make their writing their full-time employment, but they’re not clergy. They’re fashionistas or sports people or political pundits who can sell ads on their blogs and make enough revenue to support themselves.

At any rate, I wrote back to the gal and said that I don’t have any writing staff, it’s just me, and I don’t get paid a penny to blog so there’s no wealth to spread around. My readers are my writing staff!

I do accept freewill contributions in the form of lipsticks, Keurig tea and coffee pods, books and cash money. I am always touched and deeply appreciative when you send tributes (oh my gosh, that word has such icky connotations to it since “The Hunger Games” doesn’t it?) and make gifts to thank me for a post or phone conversation that especially helped you.

One of you just set me up with a great supply of decaf Earl Grey, and I think I’ll go have a cup. We sure have been having some crummy, damp weather here of late. Tea is good for me old bones. Oh, and speaking of THOSE, I have started taking glucosamine chrondroitin and my nighttime achey hips and knees seem to be improving. I’ll report back in a couple of weeks on the longer term effect as the weather gets colder.

Cheers, dears.

  1. Hi Peacebang, I just want to tell you how much Glucosamine has helped my creaky, clicky knees. I take 100mg (I think) a day, and if I don’t take my tablets for about a fortnight I find I’m creaking, clicking and hurting again. I hope they help you.
I wish you lived near France. Anytime you pop over here for a holiday I’d love to chat with you about style and clothes. I’m slowly slowly learning from you but it’s not an easy job. Thank you. [Thanks, ‘Mouse! I wish I lived near France, too. Find me a job and I’ll join you in a heartbeat. I am taking Glucosamine Chondroitin for my joints and you’re right — it absolutely helps! – PB]
