Great article that many alert pigeons have sent me today.
I don’t have time to write more now, but I will later. For now, I just wanted to get the article out there. Go tell ’em PeaceBang sent you (seriously, if Alban Institute is interested in clergy style and image, they need to give PB a CALL, am I right?).

My boss sent this to me first thing this morning. 🙂
Very great. I will add that I thought the “tips” at the end were a little insufficient. I do think the assumption of “appropriateness” is too broad to make, even for an Alban Institute crowd, for whom I have great respect.
I liked the was she was aware of the assumptions about her as a cheerleading calculus student. I did not like the way she put “black church” and “historic protestant” in different categories.
Was just about to send it to you myself! See how well you’ve trained us all?!
And it’s on Episcopal Cafe…where I just commented, directing readers to your website. xox
Good reflection, and glad it’s happening in more and more places.
I’m reacting viscerally to the “girlfriends” address in this article, in a negative way that I haven’t unpacked yet. Anyone else? I love it when PB calls us “pigeons” and the like. What’s the difference?
Matter matters!
Embodiment is NOT an abstract concept.

I just left a comment on the page mentioned. I really appreciate you posting this link, as this is what I have been thinking of for many months n
PS… I love your blog
The “article” is actually a chapter in the book “The Girlfriends’ Clergy Companion” hence all the “girlfriend” language. It’s worth a read if you haven’t heard of it yet. :o)
