When The Cardigan Just Won’t Suffice

Oh my gosh, she’s all panicky-like! Read on!

Help! I see the [adjudicatory] on Thursday! I know I need to look like a minister, so I figure I need to wear a jacket, but I feel like a hopeless frump in the jacket. I am wearing black & gray ‘texture print’ trousers, cute gray shoes with black buckles and a bit of a heel – and potentially a black suit jacket (I’m a bit plump for the matching black pants). I long to wear a lovely deep blue cardigan with a bit of ruffle at the neck with a cream colored tank (or black) underneath. I love the color, and it makes me feel great. But is a cardigan ‘ministerial’ enough for this appointment? As you know, screwing it up before the [adjudicatory body] is NOT recommended! 🙂

Please advise!

(PS – Love your site!)

Hi doll,
Nope, the cardie isn’t formal enough. I’m a sweater freak myself so I FEEL YOUR PAIN and I so wish you had a jacket that you adored enough to feel fab in…
I’m an old lady with an established rep by now so I can get away with the cardigan for professional engagements, but you cannot.
I’m concerned about the trousers. Can you send a photo? Let’s see if we can find something that you love more to wear on Thursday.
Where is the [adjudicatory body] meeting? What size are you, and where are you?

Now go study. xoxox PB

Because PB will literally GIVE YOU THE CLOTHES OFF HER BACK, pigeons. I’ve been known to do it. We should all be swapping good pieces more – consider doing this with your seminary buds of similar shape and size.
