Jesus actually might shed a tear today, if he saw the skin stripped from other beings, with their agony rationalized to justify the vanity of humans preaching His Word. [Hey Charlie, do you think Jesus wore leather sandals? But I know what you’re saying, bro. – PB]
Oh, PB, thank you! This (and the above comment) made me laugh this morning!
That’s a shoe? I thought it was an uncooked potato.
Oh dear God, yes.
I sold shoes when I was in college and I sold A LOT of these in all sorts of colors. I forgave the older ladies, but I shuddered every time I sold a pair.
OK, don’t make fun, but what precisely would cause the tears to flow? Is it the color? The stretchy material? The flat flat? The shape of the top? I am embarassed to admit that though I’m not sure these would call me name, I’m equally unsure what it is about them that is tear-producing. Which is a way of admitting that were they on the really reduced sale rack, who knows what might happen…
[I smile broadly at you! Okay, yes, the color is ugly. The stretchy material and the flat flat are ugly and frumpy. The whole shoe just screams, “MEET ME ON THE SHUFFLEBOARD DECK, MARGE!” I do know pastors who own these shoes in black, and they’re only 90% hideous. In navy, the frumpy factor skyrockets back up. – PB]
The best part of these are the name Amis – a derrogatory name for Americans in German.
