In Which (In Her Own Words) She Resembles A Christmas Ornament

This is what I’m talking about:

I just discovered Academichic again and I think this gal is one cute little hipster. She’s more hip and sexy than any clergywoman really needs to be, but not by much. I LOVE that outfit above. It’s chic, it’s got great lines, it’s festive, it’s totally appropriate for you or me to wear with one little exception: I would not wear quite so scooped a neckline with such a fitted top. But replace the bodysuit top with a flattering black sweater (or cardi), get some tights that are more maroon and not screaming red (I might do purple) and there you have a really fun outfit. Is it a little bit daring? Yes. But if you’re a young ‘un this would be fine for a party. If you’re older, adjust the elements as needed so you’re not quite so pixie-gamine and appreciate the Freedom From Frump!

  1. Wow, you’re conservative in your neck of the woods – even if she bent right over I doubt you’d see cleavage so that counts as modest in my book. And it’s paired with a kneelegth full skirt. Our 60+ year old Vicar wears tops as low as that and no-one blinks an eye!

I do agree that the tights might be a bit much in some contexts, but they look great on her. 🙂

  2. I agree with Eleanorjane I don’t think the top is too low. If I wore it I’d wear flat boots instead of heels but I think it’s a very cute outfit.
