Darlings, the last time I wore leg warmers I was a Theatre Kid. I am still a theatre kid but not stupid enough to wear leg warmers the way I wore them then. They ARE back, and there ARE ways for a chubby almost 45-year old to wear them. Trust me. I’ll take photos. They will not feature me wearing leotards and leg warmers in clear vision — I’m thinking they’ll more likely be worn over a boot to add texture and warmth with a skirt or long tunic or something. I’m all about layers and textures. Stay tuned.
I don’t know about knitting but ya’ll are so cute about it!!

There’s a fashion for wearing thick almost knee sock height socks over tights with lowish boots. I think you could wear legwarmers in place of the socks. I think it adds another layer in a place where most people are skinnier looking.
Or, wear them like boot socks (or get a knitting friend to make boot socks–big chunky tall beautiful ribbing that comes up under and is folded over the top of the boot). Alas, I have eight projects on the needles, most of them Christmas presents, so I’m not making leg warmers OR boot socks. With a corduroy or wool long-ish skirt. and a fabboo matching scarf and beret set. I must…stay….strong…not start any more knitting!!
Still not convinced. As my gay friend Zac say, “Ummph.” But I do live in Alabama, which may have something to do with it.
