Teal Kohl Eyeliner – Success!!

Kittens, PeaceBang is so a believer that if at first you don’t succeed, order a pomegranate martini and go see a funny movie. But in The Case of the Teal Eyeliner, your own fashion Nancy Drew felt that she could crack the case, and she did crack the case. With the help of the YouTube video chick, PeaceBang successfully applied her L’Oreal HIP teal kohl eyeliner. it’s definitely a different look, but it was fun!

Kind of smudgy, kinda pretty.

But with that insanely red hair, you bet your bippy I was going to stick with pretty classic clothes for my lecture this evening (black twinset, grey pearls, zebra belt, gray pants, black and silver flats):

I’ve been putting myself in the Naughty Corner so much lately, I think I’ll give myself a Halo of Praise. Because geez, if you can’t get yourself out of the doghouse, no one can.

(I think a local theatre company is doing “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” this summer. Titania is a DREAM ROLE.
My teal eyeliner and some beautiful berries in the yard inspired me…)

  2. You deserve the halo of praise!

Your eyes look great, I do like the hair colour and the pictures are beautiful.

  3. I like that black outfit with the skinny belt. I have never quite understood the belt with dress/skirt/top look. So I don’t wear belts except with jeans (very occasionally). Does one need to have a certain body type to wear the belt over the top that goes over the skirt? And how do you know whether it should be a skinny belt or a big belt? I feel like the belt accentuates my rear; is that a good reason to avoid the belt? Is it SUPPOSED to accentuate the rear?

I am so clueless about this.

  4. Hello PB,

I think your hair’s a lovely colour – vibrant like you!

  5. The red hair is not quite as red as I imagined it would be! But you wear it well…. only you could pull it off, it looks FAB-U-LOUS!!!!

Again I’ve not got the place where skinny belts seem to go….! Advice would be great on that.

And I’ve always been too nervous to wear brightly coloured eyeshadow, got a kind of Azure one to open, but not plucked up the courage!!!
Thanks for showing us make-up and fashion challenged clergy girlies to spread our wings a little!

  6. WHERE is doing Midsummer? I was in that show in college. You would be fabu as Titania. I was a crazy, bendy fairy (then) and OUR Titania had about your build. She was hot as hell.

  7. 1. Oh, YES, advice on The Skinny Belt, please. I’m always curious how best to use that. It’s such a cute look but I don’t know how to fit it in with my current wardrobe. Advice?

    2. Titania!! Oh, yes, PB, you would so very much ROCK that. Queen of the Fairies, indeed…

    3. I love love love the outfit– simple & classic twinset (I’m enamored with my new ones in black and white from J Crew, oh, so smitten), funky belt (but skinny & subtle), great pearls, classic trousers…. Just so great. Inspiration for how to accessorize a classic outfit.

  9. I just wanted to add my praise to the hair. In the photos it looks a great colour, and draws attention to your brown eyes. I often feel (very unChristian) envy for those people with brown pools for eyes. It always looks like there is something very deep and thoughtful going on.

  10. If nothing else, I hope you can look at those lovely pictures and realize how beautiful you truly are. They are amazing photos and you are beautiful–even on the days you’re not so sure about that. [oh geez ok thanks. *blush* - xxoxo PB]

  11. Maybe the pictures tone down the hair a bit, but I think you look lovely, and your confidence with makeup is admirable. I’ve been having morning fits, as my chemo curls grow out unevenly, giving me hair that sticks out in random places no matter what I do. I’m about ready to go for a buzz cut. And it appears that my eyebrows are never going to grow back. I’ve been drawing on eyebrows for a year and a half! By the time I’m done with that, I don’t have any patience for much beyond tinted lip gloss.
Oh, for the power to just put one foot in front of the other in new yoga pants! I often discover that if I will just get out of bed in the morning, doing the workout isn’t so bad. And I have to work out at 5:30 a.m. or not at all, what with getting the daughter off to school and getting myself to work. I’ll pray for you in the morning if you’ll pray for me! (Actually, I’ll pray for you in any case.)

[HEY KAREN! So good to hear from you!! I bet your stickin' out hair is soft and very pretty. Why not give it a chance, keeping it somewhat tamed with soft, thick headbands? Then again, if you buzz cut it, it may grow back thicker; I don't know, but I bet someone else does! I am losing my eyebrows over the years and have considered having them tattooed on. I've seen it on other women and it looks really good. If I do it I'll let you know. As for make-up, how about a creamy sheer bright blush just on the apples of your cheeks to give you a little lift? I have been wearing bright pink cheeks since I dyed my hair so dark, and it's a real -- and super quick -- pick-me-up. Of course, the important thing is that you're getting WELL. Allelujah! I send you my loving prayers for energy and patience with the process. Big huge hugs, PB]
