A really easy way to look like a befuddled mess is to wear your glasses halfway down your face.
And I don’t mean, like, propped there intentionally because you’re reading something.
I mean letting them slide down and not even being aware of it. Add some uncombed or frizzy hair and voila! You’re the Mad Reverend.
NOT a confidence-inspiring look for men or women.

It’s tough to get glasses adjusted properly. I’m borderline too much of a pinhead to wear adult glasses. If my head was any smaller, I would be forced into kiddie frames.
If you wear a metal frame, it may be possible for your optician to cut the temple down so that it’s not too long between your ear and the front of the frame.
My last pair of frames was actually in the “teen” section. I have a small head. What can I say, I’m a small adult?
I make sure to buy frames that aren’t too wide for my face in the first place. Secondly, I go get my plastic framed adjusted a few times a year. The heat from your body can make your frames stretch (and then slide down your nose). That and an almost 3 year old who likes to play “jump on mommy”. 🙂
Elly is right – glasses slide down for me all the time because they are bent out of shape. That and my baby daughter thinks they’re a wishbone.
On the few occasions that I go to the mall, I try to stop into a Binyons or Lenscrafters, and get a free tightening.
Almost any optician is happy to adjust your frames for you. Ever notice how most shops selling glasses are quiet and have few customers? The clerks are bored out of their skulls. Stop in and consider it a bit of ministry to chat them up and allow them to assist you. 🙂
I never could figure out how Paul Newman got away with this, but he did.
I just recently got the nose pads on my glasses changed out for silicone ones. MUCH less slippage. (The mgr. of the store and I have the same glasses, or I would have never know to do this.)
Maybe that is all that is needed to correct the problem.
i was just catching up on your site after being gone for a bit … the one thing that trips me up on this, is that i wear mine for reading. i’m as blind as a bat for the computer – but i have hawk like vision at distances. bifocals give me headaches so, i’m guilty, especially when i’m working and looking up to watch the news. ah, the dangers of getting old.
