I haven’t done this since I was a teen, but yesterday in a moment of hyper-critical boredom I took a tweezers to my brows and wound up with a right eyebrow that ends mid-way through its natural arch. It all started with one stray hair, then I felt that I should “clean up” another hair was sticking out all crazy, which led to … “oh my, that one all out of wack on the bottom needs to go, too.” I have scanty brows as it is and don’t pluck them much, and now I know why: there’s not any room for error if I do!
If you see me without eyebrow pencil on you’re going to think I’m raising my eyebrow in a supercilious fashion, but it’s not true. I just didn’t back away from the tweezers when I should have.
Live and learn! Thank God they grow.

When you get older they DON’T grow back and I have a permanent bald spot on my eyebrow from age and over plucking. I’ve thought about getting a tattoo to fill it in but when I get old and gray eyebrows that will look REALLY weird.
Eyebrows can be filled in with individual hairs and superglue. It’s tedious, doesn’t last long, and is a method of last resort. Find good false eyelashes and trim to the desired length from what would be the follicle end – eyebrow hairs come to a point and blunt ends will show. Lay out your trimmed hairs, good tweezers, and paper towel for the superglue by a well lit mirror. Using the tweezers, dip the follicle end of the lash in a minute amount of superglue and apply the end (not the side of the end) to your brow, building from the inside to the outside and from the bottom to the top, to match your other brow. Unless your brows are a true black, find a lash colour that is slightly lighter than your natural brow. After affixing, gently apply a darker powder to even the tint. You may need to apply some of the same powder to your natural brow as well.

An unfortunate incident with a gas grill made my already sparse eyebrows even shorter this weekend. Alas, Peacebang, we’ll be penciling together.
Fortunately, no facial burns, but the fresh haircut isn’t as nice as it was the day before.
