Softlips: Product Re-Review

Ouch! I used Softlips frequently this past week because I was outside a lot and it contains 20 SPF, and now I find that my lips are burning and flaking.

Must be that the pleasant tingling-sensation is generated by some drying ingredient like mentholatum.

PeaceBang can no longer recommend Softlips products. Protect your lovely kissers some other way, O Speakers Of Love and Truth.

  1. “Beeswax Lip Balm” from Burt’s Bees is my fave. If you like the minty zing, though, Bigelow makes “Mentha Lip Tint” (2% peppermint oil)in some subtle colors + clear.

  2. I’m with Li’l Flava. I read the ingredients list on that Softlips stuff and it is positively scary. Too many chemicals! Burt’s Bees is a little minty too, at least the Beeswax Lip Balm. The Honey Lip Balm is a little less smooth and doesn’t have mint in it.

  3. Softlips is not a bad product,I have used it and it works to releive my dry cracked lips it the sun or cold winter.

It could be that the SPF 20 is to high for your lips and you are having a reaction. NOT that the product is bad. Check it out. [I use SPF on my lips every day, so that’s not it. I wonder if it’s the fragrance or the menthol or something. I’m glad it works for you. – PB]
