Sometimes I worry about my grown-out roots or chompy-looking nails and then I remember that I’m about 70 lbs. overweight and I think to myself, “Like anyone’s noticing your NAILS, girl!”
Which is to say, although PeaceBang writes a lot about minutae on here — and believes wholeheartedly in attending to the details of our image and appearance — let’s keep it all in perspective and attend to the big things first!

What people notice first is not half as important as what they remember. They may notice overweight first, but then comes grooming, appearance, and most importantly of all, personality, joy, spirit, etc. Of which you have a very memorable amount.
Not really sure why but this post made me laugh 🙂
In the photographs and (more importantly) in the video segments of you that I’ve seen, you look beautiful and lively– and that’s what people would notice (along with the polished look).
I concur with Ms. Robinson. Some of the most gorgeous women I’ve ever seen (and they made such an impact that I still remember them) were “big” women: size 18 and up. But carriage, gorgeous hair, beautiful (often very dramatic) makeup, and clothing that FIT them made them absolute head-turners. I have been known to stare!
You may be 70 lbs. overweight – but dear lady, your joyous spirit and your polished presentation are turning heads as you walk down the street. I guarantee it.
Thanks, chicks. You salve my very bad self-esteem.
