Don’t listen to your grandma! White can be very fresh year-round, and there’s no reason not to take those gorgeous white garments into transitional seasons.
The idea is to put away the summery fabrics like eyelet and gauzey cottons (linen may last you through October in warmer climates) and swap your sandals for loafers, pumps, oxfords or even light boots. Pair your white garments with classics – navy blazers, maxi dresses, a plum cardigan — be creative!

This big circle circle skirt is a bit gaminesque for clergy but I loved that she paired white with a houndstooth blouse and sharp pumps. The blouse and shoes add serious sophistication.
