Oh, oh, oh!
I am trying to go to church this morning somewhere and none of the church websites I am checking tell me WHEN THE SERVICE IS! Or if it changes for the summer!
I am just a person on vacation looking to worship with others!
So, how many seekers are out there looking for the same thing I am looking for and have no idea whether or not they should show up, and at what time?
Check your websites! Do the links “to our new site” work? (The one I just tried doesn’t)
Is the church Facebook Page informative in any way if that’s the second place I go to try to find out if the church worships in the summer? Or is it just blurry photos from last year’s …. something? The photos are blurry, so I can’t tell what that was. A bake sale? A Bible study? A confused mob who happened to convene in your parish hall?
This is not new technology. And it’s how folks find us.
Please don’t leave people guessing. They just won’t come. It’s too easy to go back to bed and worship later at the majestic altar of God’s creation, aka the beach.

Such a good reminder about the Facebook Page! I just created a post and pinned it to the top of the page. Hope you have a wonderful morning of worship somewhere!
Be careful with pinned facebook posts – they are harder to find via mobile.
So true! We were out of town for a family funeral and chose a church to visit based on his easy and informative their website was- in addition to their visible standing as an Open and Affirming UCC church!
Also, please put the address (including town and state) in plain view.
I have been searching for a church homes since leaving my parish for chaplaincy work and I find this ALL the time.
My other complaint is clergy that “hide” on the webpage. I am not looking for a wordy bio, I just want to see a decent picture where I can get a tiny glimpse of who’s in charge before I show up.
