Oh, how we LIVE for a good neutral lippy over here at PeaceBang HQ! Something that moisturizes, something that leaves the lip a bit prettier than plain, something that works with PB’s skin tone and doesn’t look like she smooshed baby pink chalk all over her face. Neutrals are tough and you’ve really got to try them on to see if they’ll work for you, but this is a gorgeous formula: Benefit Full Finish Lipstick.
The thing about neutral lippy is that you really shouldn’t expect it to do anything at all for you if you’re not wearing any other make-up. Neutral lipstick is actually a look, and it can wash you out somethin’ terrible if you don’t wear it with evened-out skin, a bit of blush and some eyes. If you want lipstick to do something for you without doing anything else to your face, stick with a nice bright pop of gloss or a sheer berry liptick or a bright cherry red.

Having been sunkissed by God and graced with one brown lip (top) and one pink lip (bottom) I frequently blend my own beige/pink tones. Sometimes I preserve my two tones other times I put pink on top and beige on bottom. My best neutral + look is mauve.

so pretty! Yesterday I got a new lipstick I love. It’s Origins (yay for plant-based and cruelty-free) Rain and Shine. Beautiful color, goes on smoothly, smells like mint and leaves my lips feeling zingy and refreshed. My new favorite product!
Since the last neutral lip color you recommended became my go-to (Revlon Colorstay in Best Bubbly) and I am wearing it today, I will have to check this one out as a less drying option.
I sometimes cheat and use clear gloss to get a neutral look. I’ve also discovered that getting a lipgloss or even a lipstick in a bright orange or tangerine can be a neutral look if it’s not applied too heavily. It gives my lips a nice peachy tone.
