I saw some pretty awesome robes on TV during the MLK Day concert at the White House.
But did you see his red sequined robe when he performed on The Voice? Two nights of fanciness in a row!
OK, I must disagree with our beloved PB. Madonna looked gorgeous and performed with her characteristic vivacity and commitment. GORGEOUS. Loved her costumes, her dancing, her singing, her presence. Loved every aspect of it and every minute of it. She is amazing and a real pop style icon, if not a ministerial one! Rock on, Madonna. We could use a little Madonna-izing of the clergy!
I’ve been a big fan of Madonna for a long time and I thought this all was sort of comical. It was like a parody of all the things that could possibly have offended the religious right in the 1980’s and 1990’s and was so tame in comparison to today’s music.
The other thing that was funny was that Madonna (who is in amazing shape and all that), during this homage to her sexuality, was never far from a handrail. That made me laugh out loud. If she needs a handrail when she dances, I can no longer deny my own advancing age!
