Crocs!

Long-time readers of this blog know that my religious commitment to hating on Crocs has never flagged. Until today.

I got an e-mail from Planet Shoes luring me to their web site and I popped on to have a look at what was on sale.

I was thinking, “Gee, it would be nice to have a pair of sexy open-toed clog type shoes. Just something for dinner parties and that sort of thing — something I can slip on when guests come over that are fun and casual at the same time. Something a step up in style from my cooking Crocs.”

Yea, I cook in Crocs. Sorry! I do! They help me to not have a stiff lower back!

Crocs! For fifty stinking bucks! $50 bucks for PLASTIC! They’re so cute, though!

I’m not tempted, and you know why? Because if your feet sweat, they slide right around in Crocs. And on a 4″ heel that could be a real nightmare. Still, consider it a sign of the Apocalypse that PeaceBang gave serious consideration to the cuteness of Crocs.

  1. I have a friend that had a foot surgically rebuilt after being horribly shattered in a car accident. It looks fine but she can’t wear heels or any kind of uncomfortable shoes. She swears by “fancy” Crocs! They’re fairly ugly as shoes go, but much better than the sneakers/chef clogs/whatever that she would be wearing otherwise.

  2. The above open-toed Crocs should NOT be worn for cooking, for safety reasons. Closed toed shoes help to prevent injury if you drop a knife or spill a hot liquid.

  3. To paraphrase what the good lady said – I don’t care what they do in private, as long as they don’t do it in the street and frighten the horses.

Those shoes might frighten the horses.
