Thank You

It’s kind of fun when you get your doctorate and both the president of the seminary and an esteemed theologian on the faculty stop you to get fashion advice (of course they were kidding, but it was funny and sweet nonetheless).

I shared the day with dear friends and a group of delighted parishioners, and we celebrated. The sun shone all day although it was predicted to rain, and that in itself felt miraculous enough since we have had rain for endless days.

It was a fantastic day to remember and I thank you for being part of it in spirit. I want to get some posts going on the stripes trend we’re seeing right now, and on Face Management (stay tuned for an explanation!) and on liturgy (which will be my first post back on PeaceBang.com, which is going live again any day now). But first, a wee rest.

MWAH! Kiss of peace from the now officially Rev. Dr. PeaceBang. When my advisor and dear mentor, the Rev. Beth Nordbeck, dropped that hood around my neck I thought, “DANG, this thing is heavy!” But, you know, regalia is so fun, as was the funny little hat. I zhuzed it up with a big red rose (my grandmother was a milliner so I come by that instinct naturally). When a stunning and elegant young woman at the reception after the service stopped to tell me how much she loved my flower I unclipped it from my hair and gave it straightaway to her. I loved seeing her pin it into her own long, dark hair.

Beauty abounds.
