Strangely enough, even though these don’t look as cute as the Gomera’s, they look way better on me. WANT MORE. $180, though. Pffft.

Ooh! I have! I have! I had some Picolino sandals that I loved to death (which came when they were eaten by one of the dogs). They looked great, felt great. I took them with me to Uganda, for Pete’s sake, and was able to walk all over in them. They held up tremendously well. I actually have another pair of Picolino’s in my closet right now that I love but that don’t match much of my wardrobe.
Highly recommend.
I also have a pair of Picolinos that I love. Have worn them a great deal the last two summers, and they’re still going strong/looking pretty new. So very comfortable. And so pretty!
I just put a little something in the kitty for you. You have helped me soooo much over the last few years, and I think of you nearly every time I get dressed for a professional event. Happy Graduation!

I have 3 pairs of Pikolinos flats. They run a little wide and fit my foot well, even with an arch support insert (inserted into the Jerez flats). Via eBay, I just bought used pair for $14 and plan to dye them reddish brown as an experiment. Pikolinos can look a little folk/Bohemian, so can’t wear them with a sleek outfit, a rare occurrence.
Shoes based on bondage and fetish wear = not a great look at all, ever. Seeing them makes me feel sick and if my minister wore them I’d have a word.
But the cutouts are pretty, like the mehndi patterns, too.
I think they are based on gladiator sandals. A group that we now think were societal outcasts in some sort of bondage but in fact many were Roman citizens who were regarded more like winners on “American Idol” and had women chasing them etc. like sports stars today. [I can dig that. – PB]
