I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for the over-the-top glammy make-up face*:
Give me this ANY day over the drab faces and deadly hair do’s (hair don’ts, actually) of the average clergy person:

Raja
Condragulations to RAJA, winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” Season 3!! Yes, pigeons, those are two men you’re looking at.
So much of what I’ve learned about life I’ve learned from drag queens. God bless them.
*and because I always have one reader who thinks that every blessed thing that comes out of my mouth pertains to clergy image and dressing/grooming, let me make clear that I do NOT condone that kind of make-up job for anyone in the real world!

I love RuPaul and her girls. I did root for Raja. And definitely had a sweet spot for Alexis. Carmen is pretty, but also petty. Manilla was fabu!
Queens are great role models. Ru has also taught me a lot about gender construction and performance, self-love and acceptance issues, make-up and wardrobe. I love her!
I too am fascinated by glammy makeup (on women or drag queens!). I was at the pool a while ago with my son, and I was fascinated by two women there who had on full faces of makeup. I didn’t even bother with makeup since I knew my face would get splashed. They looked great. 🙂
