Dig it, people of God:
So many stoles are just so ugly. I’m sorry, but they are the aesthetic equivalent of bad 70’s macrame projects. Some of them look like someone gave an angry toddler a box of dark crayons and let him scribble all over fabric. I don’t know why artsy pastors are so uniquely blind to the ugliness of their own stole creations but it pains me when I see an otherwise awesome pigeon decked out in one of those patchworky or quilty-scribbly things. Like, what’s the symbolism there? It might have personal meaning to you to have a stole made out of your grandmother’s old aprons or whatever it is that has such sentimental value but really, it’s an eyesore around your neck. It’s one of the Passover plagues: Locusts! Frogs! Ugly Stoles! Oy!
So I thought these were just so nice, and SERRV is a great organization.

I’m of two minds about stoles at best, but these have the added advantage of being reasonably thin. Some are so thick and heavy that they look more like billboards.
And BTW, your stole should not be longer than your robe! Ewww! [WHAAAAT? Have you seen this!!!?? – PB]
they are always so so too long and thick for me. This one looks like it could be altered but so many cannot. I had very traditional solid vestments made when I was ordained (by a friend) and I tend to stick with them because they fit me. I am attracted to more creative options but they always overwhelm me, I think.
