I have spent the better part of the past 15 years as a stay-at-home mom. During that time I earned two Master’s degrees part-time and am now finishing up a PhD. Though not serving in a ministerial capacity I am one of the professionally holy serving in the world of academia – I teach at a denominational seminary. As a student someone introduced me to your blog and it has been a God-send for someone who has spent the last decade plus living in bluejeans and now needs to look professional on a daily basis.

I knew without a doubt that you had made an impact when, two weeks ago, I spent nearly $10 on a bottle of nail polish because I am tired of having weak, ridged, splitting, and totally unprofessional nails that were too damaged to even hold nail polish. $10! For nail polish!

And I thank you very much! Not only do my nails look better, I wear make-up and jewelry and clothes that actually fit and I’ve learned that shoes can be fun. Who’d a thunk it?!

Way to go, woman! Yes, it can be fun and it can feel really good to be prepared to be in the world in a different role than the one you’ve primarily fulfilled for fifteen years.
