MadeByMari’s Sweet Knit Fichu

Remember when I was looking for something ruffly and pretty to go at my neck to wear with my Geneva Gown? And I wound up buying a long piece of vintage lace and folding it over ascot style and looking very Dutch Reformed, and someone thought I looked too much like a Hogwarts professor, and I thought that was really kind of hilariously right?

Well, I ordered this item from an artisan on etsy.com, which I love, intending to try it with my preaching robe:

The one I ordered was a little thicker and more wintery than the one shown here, and it didn’t work with my robe but I DO love it anyway and wear it all the time. It’s a great little modesty cover for the neck and chest and I like to throw it on just to fill in the neckline of a little jacket before I go out into the chill. It’s quite warm.

So I wanted to recommend that you take a look at Mari’s work because I promised her that I would, and I believe in supporting local artists and maybe you’ll find some great Christmas gifts on etsy for yourself or friends. And maybe you’ll get yourself a little knitted collar for your own preaching robe. The great thing is that you can button these however you look so they’re really versatile. Enjoy.

  1. Thanks for loving my Neck Warmer! Too bad it’s too warm for your indoor work, but glad it’s working out in the cold eastern weather! Take care and . . . stay warm!
