Help! Small Wallet With Snap-Closure Change Compartment?

Seriously, I know there are more important things going on in the world but I am having the devil’s own time of it finding a new wallet to replace the one that is falling apart.

I don’t carry a checkbook (it forces me to get out all my receipts at the end of the day and record them in the checkbook that lives on my desk, plus it’s lighter and less bulky), so I like a small wallet. And I REALLY prefer a snap-closure compartment for my change rather than a zip closure. Sounds dumb, but I just have an easier time digging around for change when there’s a snap closure.

I like this wallet from Buxton but it lacks the snap closure change compartment. If anyone has any ideas, I’d love to hear them. I need to be able to put folded money and credit cards into the thing, and change. That shouldn’t be that hard.

[THIS JUST IN. I found exactly what I’ve been looking for in the Buxton Double Cardex With Change Purse. It was $24 at Amazon. Here’s a photo:

I’m just an old lady and sot in my ways. I had to have that change purse. The huge nerd in me loves the fact that it’s a dual-compartment change purse, so I can keep stamps and things organized away from the coins].

  1. I just got a new one from a local cute store that I love. It’s made by Kristine Accessories. When I googled, this site came up. Gives a good idea of the array of styles. There are lots and they are CUTE! I often take just the wallet as my clutch when going out.

I keep the change in the zippered part, but, like you, just leave the zipper open so I can do the “quik-dig” at the counter! [Those are SO CUTE! – PB]

  2. I was half-tempted by a wallet in Paris that incorporated a change purse. More practical there, of course, where a 2 Euro coin is worth 12 times more than a quarter.

  3. My poor, Buxton wallet is also dying, as we speak, and I am considering options. I adore the framed snap closure for coins (easy to access but secure in keeping coins from escaping), and I love Buxton quality. This wallet does INDEED seem to be Just Perfect, and it is true serendipity that you were looking, found, and posted this just now.

My only dilemma is what color. Black is a default choice, I suppose, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE that teal… such a shame it doesn’t seem to be for sale (ANYWHERE, the agony). Shucks.
