Thanks to alert reader Michael Tino for recommending this hilarious Ny Times article, “No, I Haven’t Been Mugged, Why Do You Ask?” about the perils of autumn make-up as pedaled by the cosmetics companies.
The article shows what a racket the industry is, but also points out how much fun the adventure of changing one’s look can be.
Enjoie!

Especially if you’re in for the Jazz Killer look, it seems!
$941 for that Yves Saint Laurent Beauteee stuff? Whoa! I can hardly imagine.
I prefer the lip glosses because you don’t get that lipstick ring … but then I also don’t like looking as though I just ate a bucket of grease, either. *sigh*
You’re sure that tattooed makeup is a no-no?
Hafidha Sofia, my glamorous aunties both have tattooed-on eyeliner. I have no idea how they did it but they’re elegant Jewish ladies and it looks great!
PB – I did a quick google search on permanent makeup and I guess it’s more common than I thought. I’m too terrified to even get a second set of holes in my ears, so it’s probably safe to say I won’t be getting injections anywhere near my eyes.
But boy, it sure does sound convenient.
