Aside from the fact that I am so embarrassed by SJP’s new commercial for her new perfume “Covet” that I cover my eyes with my hands when it comes on, I’m alarmed by her physique. Working out with weights is terrific! It builds bone density and many other good things! But I think that this is way out of control, hombres.
Courtesy of the gals over at jezebel.com, here’s the frightening commercial for Covet. I think it’s highly possible that this was meant to be a kind of satire of the pretentious fragrance ads of the 80’s and 90’s, but, um, I still feel like my dignity is compromised just being in the same room when it’s showing. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
For the record, I can’t wait until the weather gets cooler so I can start wearing this again. Nummy, nummy, nummy. And to my friends: if I stink of Lapsang Souchang because I’m becoming so accustomed to this scent that I can’t smell it, please let me know. Just discreetly pitch a tea bag at my head or something.

If a commercial is so awful or bizarre that people are still thinking/talking about it more than 30 seconds after it’s ended, it’s a success.
It looks like what happened in that Hulk Hogan photo is that she worked out RIGHT BEFORE she appeared at that event. That’s why she’s so vein-y and tight. I’ve seen her in other recent photos baring her arms, and they just looked very toned.
Is it just me, or does she have a weird fakey French accent at the end of the commercial when she says “I had to have it.” Is that on purpose? That bugs me more than anything else in that commercial (and I, too, close my eyes).
Also, I had to be videotaped preaching this morning. I dressed with great thought and care, as per usual, but I am very eager to see the tape of myself, to see if the image I project is up to PeaceBang’s standards. I wore a bright pink silk collared shirt and black pants and heels. Simple makeup and a black headband. This is the get-a-new-job video, so hopefully I’ll look like the minister churhces want to call.
Dear Knitter, The only important thing about what you wore, my dove, is if you lived up to your OWN vision of who you want to be in ministry. Good luck!
What suggestions do you have for those of us who love scent, but whose spouses gag at the very thought of it? The best I can manage is to smell clean. When he goes away, I burn incense and wear perfume for myself, but I have to stop about 24 hours before he returns or I will be in Big Trouble.
The whole thing is so camp that I can’t believe they think it will sell an expensive product to selective shoppers.
