Well, I YAM! It’s FUN! It’s like when you were a little kid making collages from old magazines. But curses to whoever turned me onto it, because I bet it could get addictive. Anyway, it’s a good way to peek into my noggin for things that catch my fancy but that I don’t have the inclination to write a whole blog post about.

Darlings, I’m really starting to look forward to our gathering next weekend for an ecumenical conversation on Christian Unity in the Digital Age. You can read all about it and register here. I started preparing my talk and workshop in earnest today and it’s exciting to have so much that I can’t wait to share.
One of my plans for today is to hunker down and read tons of Pastor Keith Anderson’s posts about digital ministry. It’s something I have been meaning to do for a long time and knowing that I’ll be meeting him next week makes it feel like something I don’t want to put off any longer.
I am also reading S. Mark Heim’s Saved From Sacrifice: A Theology of the Cross and Edwin Friedman’s A Failure of Nerve: Leadership in the Age of the Quick Fix. Both of them are wonderful and I want to particularly thank whichever of my pigeons it was who recommended Friedman to me. Girls and boys, you CANNOT miss the chapter “Survival In A Hostile Environment: The Fallacy of Empathy,” especially if you serve in the liberal church. I’ll be blogging on it over at PeaceBang.com.

So, hey, UCC pigeons! If you’re a young ‘un in the ministry, I hope we’ll get to meet at the 2030 Clergy Network Conference in June at Boston University School of Theology! I’ll be keynoting and doing a workshop immediately following. It’s not in the YEAR 2030, y’all. It’s a network of ministers in their 20’s and 30’s.
It’s June 5-7 and I’m sure there will be helpful web sites and stuff soon, although I can’t find any right now. I think there’s a Facebook page.
