No recriminations here. I am a mom of a young child and will get to bed at 2:00 am after Christmas Eve services (if I’m lucky), wake up with the excited child as soon as the sun raises him from his slumber, try to have a modicum of “family Christmas” and then back to church for just one morning service. After all that, I will probably collapse as everyone else enjoys the company of friends and family. It will take me DAYS to recover from the schedule. Here’s to a simpler day for you. Maybe you can visit some of those in your parish who may be lonely that morning?
