Oh, PeaceBang just leeeerves a great, clean stripe. Never you mind all the nonsense about how they’re not flattering to fat people, they are FAB. They’re classic and snappy if you pair them with the right clothes. Like, please don’t throw on a striped boatneck T-shirt that’s sort of sloppy and too-big with a plain pair of chinos and sneakers and tell me you’re dressed for work. You ain’t. HOWever, pair that shirt with a pencil skirt and a pair of cute espadrilles and now we’re talking.

Stripes can be fun and funky and classic. Here are some of my recent spottings:

(Cute in skirt form, too!)

  1. Great pics. Stripes are truly classic and have been a staple in my wardrobe for years and years. I have a favorite striped T (black & white, very French) that is my go-to travel top. Always polished, always comfy.

  2. As long as the fit is good, anyone no matter their size can wear stripes and look great. I recently got a cute black and white striped pullover sweater vest that I’ve been wearing with a heavy weight white tee underneath, wide leg black trousers, and great red shoes.

And BTW, speaking of the white tee, I got it at Christopher and Banks. Their tees are FAB – great fabric weight, different fit types to choose from, and very inexpensive. They have petite and plus sizes too. I got the shaped fit and it’s very flattering. FYI, their sizing runs a little large – I bought a small and I normally wear a medium.

  3. I think a lot of times it all depends on where the stripes hit you…love the first look with the narrowing stripes (or are they getting wider?)

  4. I find it sourly amusing that fashion advisors tell us to wear vertical stripes, but the only garments offered in the stores have horizontal stripes.
