So i commented a few weeks ago on what to wear my first time in a pulpit.. it was a blast by the way… i ended up wearing brown capris with aqua penstrip, aqua v tank, tan blazer, tan heels, turquoise jewlry… it worked well.. thank you though for your advice with the robe etc.. i actually bought a few of the pieces you suggested and it helped… thanks. .april
Congratulations, April! The outfit sounds wonderful. I wouldn’t preach in capris myself as I think they’re too informal– but it sounds like you dressed up the ensemble with heels and the blazer.GOOD!
Gals, do you ever preach in pants? For me it’s either a skirt or a robe (and I don’t mind wearing trousers under a robe, but I don’t love how it looks, either).
More important, how did the sermon go??! How did you feel about your strength and power in the pulpit?
Now eye-de-puffer, that’s definitely something I will try.
Do I preach in pants? A couple times in six years. I have a very dressy pantsuit that slims me, and I have worn it a couple times. Sorry, PB, it’s navy. It looks good on me and I like it. I prefer my black and off black dresses, or my blue denim jumpers when the weather is cool.
Robe is OUT. Rural Appalachia is not robe country.
Jean, I LOVE your navy suit! But oh heavens… did you say Denim Jumper!??? Have you seen my posts on denim jumpers? Auntie Em, I’m frightened.
