actually, if you look carefully in the odd cleaning products of your larger grocery story, you might find a product called “WaxAway.” Works great.
What about chilling the garment to make the wax friable, scraping it off very gently (say, with the side of a credit card) and a piece of brown paper bag and a cool iron.
Wow, I never knew wax remover existed — I always did the thing with tissue paper and a warm iron (similar to bitb’s recipe but not quite the same).
The problem with that, bitb, is that it doesn’t work. You might get the clump of wax off, but you still have a colored (if the candle was colored) and greasy stain on the fabric.
Turst me, I’ve spent many a long and lovely dinner party languishing at the table watching the wax drip all over the tablecloth, but unwilling to break up the conversation. My tablecloths look like it, too.
Oh, but this stuff is for the altar cloths at church! Yes, indeedy, it surely is!
