Spray and Wash Stain Stick: Products We LOVE

I know we’re not supposed to worship anyone but the One Lord, ya’ll but I have to say that I just adore and worship this product because it managed to get out TWO big greasy stains on favorite garments. One was months old (on a grey, cotton work-out jacket), the other weeks old (on a grey-blue poly camisole). I had washed both garments several times using Zout and regular detergent with no luck. I thought I was going to have to relegate both garments to the rag pile until I smeared a bunch of the Spray and Wash Stick on the stains, laundered as usual, and voila!! Good as new. This stuff is great because you can wack a stain with it the moment you get one and launder the garment up to a week later. This is to LOVE.

  1. Ooh; gotta get that. Just found some kind of reddish cherry-like stain on my pants that I’ve only worn three times!!

  2. Girl, I’m with you. Another quick stain remover I like is Shout. That is to say, “I like to shout it out” LOL!

  3. Yes, it is fabulous stuff! You can apply it right when you get the stain, too, and then let the clothes sit in the hamper for a week before washing. Because we don’t have a washer/dryer and use laundromats, this is a goddess-send.

  4. Ohhhh yes. I’ve been a fan of this stuff for a long time. It gets grease out of dark knits–like the little dribble I always get when I try to eat bread dipped in olive oil. Just be careful–if you drop it on the floor of the laundry room, it rolls under the washer and becomes impossible to retrieve. I think there are 2-3 under mine right now.

  5. Testify! I discovered it by accident a couple of months ago and I’m sold.

  6. I’ll have to try it! My go-to stain remover is an overnight soak in Oxyclean and hot water (or other oxygen-based powder).

  7. Even though we are a “Shout” family, I’ve discovered how much smarter it is to leave the bottle next to the hamper than next to the washing machine. Now when I take off my clothes at the end of the day and find that the bit of macaroni salad from lunch made a few skips down my shirt before hitting the floor, I just zap it and let it sit in the hamper till laundry day.

Another good product is something called “Totally Toddler”. You can only get it at places like Babies-R-Us, but it’s enzyme based and works great on organic stains (food, poop, barf, and other substances likely to come from a toddler).

  8. YES to Stain-Stick — it takes out everything, and you can use it on every freaking thing except washable silk. And Dawn dish detergent, left on overnight, takes care of the silk. So we all can be stain-free forever!
