Beauty Tips for Ministers

Quilts By Kate
January 7, 2010 on 10:55 pm | In PeaceBang Halo Of Praise | 3 CommentsSome of you may know that in her life before ministry, PeaceBang was a high school English teacher. One of her former students has just launched a new website for her quilt-making business and I’m just so proud of her I had to promote it here.
Kate’s specialties are quilts made from old T-shirts, from ties, and from wedding dresses. I love the blend of practical and sentimental in the quilts — I think how wonderful it would have been, for instance, to have saved my father’s many ties after he died and had them made into something that would keep me warm today. What a beautiful idea. Or all those old show T-shirts from high school productions, or all of your political cause t-shirts that you know you can’t wear to work (’cause PeaceBang told you to save them for the gym!)… have Kate make a quilt for you!
She does her work 100% by hand (no machine stitching!) and is a member of the UU congregation in Montclair, New Jersey.
Congratulations, Katie, and mazel tov!
Love, Miss Weinstein

Love the Iowa tee on the t-shirt quilt! (I’m in Iowa…) A dear friend now with God made a necktie quilt using silk ties only…gorgeous.
