My shoes are mostly from DSW, which aren't always necessarily cheap but sometimes have hidden defects that don't come out until later. I like the shoes in the link, and also hate flats because they remind me of my eighth grade prom look. I guess for now I'll buy gel inserts and initiate yogic foot rubs. Thanks, Peacebang!

Oh Megan. NOT good. God does not want you to have squished Barbie feet. I'm wondering why clunky, fairly low heels are doing you in. Are they cheapies with no padded foot bed? Those KILL my feet so I had to give them all away. Are they the right size?
Could it be that you just can't wear heels at all and need to find cute flats? I hate flats because they have no support, but you may need to avoid heels altogether if you're having such problems.

How about a wedge, like these? (wait a sec -- I'll provide the link in a second)

This entry has brought up a problem I'm having since starting my full time ministerial internship a month ago -- all the stylish yet moderately heeled shoes I carefully purchased are making my feet hurt. Not like blisters and squished toes, but like bones and muscles being formed into Barbie Feet. My shoes are clunky-heeled, 1 1/2-2 inches, that's it! No spikes or anything! Am I doomed to either wear loafers as a minister (which I'm happy to do as a lay person) or else need premature foot replacement surgery? I don't even hardly walk in them, I sit most of the day! Please advise.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could get about 5 copies of our favorite clothes -- after the fact, once we know they are our favorites -- to wear and wear? I have a pair of jersey gauchos that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE -- I don't care if they are trendy or not. I'd like 5 colors of those gauchos And TENCEL -- tencel is to die for, in my book. I love the way it drapes, cleans, etc. I'd have every item of my wardrobe (well, the bottom half and jumpers, anyway) be tencel -- but it's pretty hard to get. I also have a pair of linen trousers that I would like in 16 colors, despite the wrinkle factor. They look casual but appropriate at the same time, feel FAbULOUS. I need a private seamstress, I think. Oh, and I'd like pure washable silk clergy shirts, too.

I love those boots. I get your reasons for giving them back but, they are very, very cute.

Wow, I have boots just like that! In fact, I just found them under the bed two days ago as we were cleaning out items we haven't used in the three years we've lived on the bus. I had completely forgotten about them.

The rule is, since they hadn't been worn, they had to go, but hubby could tell I really wanted to keep them so I moved them out into the living room to think about it.

Mine are J. Crew from 3-4 years ago, quite a bit taller in the leg and milk chocolate suede. I have the exact same ones in black leather and love, love, love them. Non skid sole, low heel. They are lined in creamy leather that I can't resist touching. Oooo...

I have almost nothing else in brown, so we'll see if I really need to keep both pairs. Or maybe I'll look for a chocolate sweater or blazer to wear with them...

Seeing your boots here today makes me think I was destined to keep mine :-)
