P.S. And I have a better haircut than Diane Lane. It costs me $20 (recently raised from $17) and I drive through cornfields to get to my hairdresser, who operates a one-chair studio in what used to be their garage. Country life, I love it!

I agree with madgebaby -- in jeans (and with some rouge and a touch of lipstick, please!) she'd look fine. I don't mind the spikey hair at all. It's the overall washed-out-plus-brown look that is not so good. Poor dear looks depressed. And the dress is not.good.at.all. The shoes aren't much better.

Sorry, PB, but after 63 years of hating my hair (well, maybe 57 years), I have finally found a hairstyle that I love and that brings "Where can I get a haircut like that?" queries from strangers in coffee shops. It is spikey, spikey, spikey. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

OOps, I think she looks fine. I'm not big on animal prints, but I understand they're back. Sigh. And I can't see her hair. Oh, well. As for shoes, my church shoes for fall are Mudd (brown) and Skechers (black suede). I don't really do heels of any kind -- I think I'm exceedingly intolerant of discomfort, and have yet to find any sort of heel that doesn't torture me.

It's not just the hair, because after all she still has that great skin and those lovely eyes. It's that she looks like she just came from the gym and had to throw something on, and this hideous outfit was the first thing she saw. No time for makeup or a bra!

If she were wearing jeans, she'd be very attractive if a little low maintainence. It's the lack of drama, as much as the hair, that is disconcerting.
